Bedarra Island is an exclusive tropical private hideaway, lying off the coast of Cairns.

At Bedarra Island, guests can do as they wish, when they wish. A maximum of just 32 guests are accommodated in 16 secluded villas, hidden in the rainforest, only minutes from the beach. Superbly appointed, each villa has a separate living area, contemporary bathroom and king size bed. On the balcony, guests can relax in a hammock and contemplate the beauty and calm of this elegant retreat.

The cuisine is exquisite; sample local delicacies on the open-air terrace restaurant, with a freshly prepared menu every day. A popular lunch option is a romantic beach picnic with a gourmet hamper.

While the focus on Bedarra Island is on peace and relaxation, there are also many activities to enjoy, such as catamaran sailing, paddle-skiing, fishing, snorkelling and diving day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, as well as motorised dinghies for exploring the island's picturesque, private beaches. The Pavilions
Removed from the main resort area, the two Pavilions are set in exclusive, private locations with stunning views over Wedgerock Bay. An open plan layout, featuring extensive use of timber and glass, is designed to take full advantage of the spectacular views and create an inviting indoor/outdoor ambience.

The spacious area sleeping overlooks the rainforest and features a custom designed king size bed, large walk-in wardrobe and a separate over sized bathroom with shower and deep bath.

An expansive and beautifully appointed living area offers contemporary seating, mini bar, entertainment facilities (LCD TV, DVD, Bose Lifestyle sound system with iPod connectivity) and work desk with phone and personal laptop computer with complimentary 3G broadband internet.

A large outdoor area and deck incorporates a private heated plunge pool and daybed.

Guests receive daily delivery of ice and sunset canapés to the room.

The Points
Each Point is located in a superb elevated beachside position offering stunning panoramic ocean views over Hernandia Bay. The Points boast a large open plan indoor living area with contemporary styling and design features maximizing the panoramic views.

Each feature an elevated sleeping area, a separate bathroom with shower and free standing bath and a separate sunken lounge area, with comfortable sofa and armchairs, mini bar, entertainment facilities ( LCD TV, DVD, Bose Lifestyle system with iPod connectivity), a work desk with a phone and a laptop computer with complimentary internet connection

A large outdoor deck, perfectly positioned to ensure complete privacy, features a luxurious daybed, sun lounges and private heated plunge pool.

Guests receive a delivery of ice and a sunset canapé plate every evening.

Double Storey Villa
Double Storey Villas are situated beachfront and with easy access to the central resort facilities and restaurant. Set into the rainforest each Villa offers tree-filtered ocean views. The double storey layout provides a spacious sleeping area and a bathroom, offering rainforest views and separate bath at ground level. The upper level features a living area with comfortable seating, entertainment facilities (LCD TV, DVD, Bose Wave system with iPod docking station), mini bar and a second toilet. Double Storey Villas offer private balconies on each level.

Split Level Villa
Located in private elevated positions, each Villa offers stunning views over Hernandia Bay. The Split Level Villa is open plan and features an elevated sleeping area and a separate living area, with comfortable sofa and armchairs, entertainment facilities (LCD TV, DVD, Bose Wave system with iPod docking station) and a fully stocked mini-bar on the lower level. A private verandah offers enticing beach and bay views. Split Level Villas are just a short stroll away from the central resort facilities and restaurant.

Hillside Villa
Hillside Villas are situated in elevated locations close to the beachfront and are set just behind the central resort facilities and restaurant. Set into the lush tropical rainforest each Villa offers filtered inhibited water views. The double storey layout provides a sleeping area and bathroom with separate bath at ground level and the upper level features a living area with comfortable seating, entertainment facilities (LCD TV, DVD, Bose Wave system with iPod docking station), mini bar and a second toilet.

Dunk Island has a variety of activities available to Bedarra guests, including a 9 hole golf course, water skiing, skydiving, horse riding, extensive rainforest walks and a range of pampering spa treatments from facials to body wraps and massage at the Spa of Peace and Plenty. Complimentary transfers are provided for scheduled activities such as Reef Cruise & other activities

Bedarra Isalnd Restaurant
An open terrace restaurant overlooks the cascading pool in an intimate setting for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner, all of which are included in your tariff.

The food is simply exquisite and there is a new menu every day. The superb seafood is always fresh, as if you caught it yourself.

A gourmet hamper and your own boat are the perfect excuse to slip away to a secluded bay on Bedarra Island. Gourmet picnic hampers for beachside outings are available on request daily.

We are able to cater for any special dietary requirements, however, due to our location we request that you provide as much notice as possible to ensure we are better able to meet your needs.

Breakfast is available from 8.00am, lunch from 1.00pm and dinner from 7.00pm.

Bedarra Island is located approximately 4 kilometres off the Tropical North Queensland coast, midway between Townsville and Cairns. Access to Bedarra Island is via Dunk Island.

From Cairns
To get to Bedarra Island regular flights are available to Cairns from all Australian Capital cities with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue.

Once arriving at Cairns you are either able to hop on a short 45 minute flight to Dunk Island with Hinterland Aviation Air Transfers or alternatively a boat transfer operates between Mission Beach and Dunk Island daily.

A 20 minute courtesy boat transfer connects between Dunk and Bedarra Islands and meets all Hinterland transfers.

By Scenic flight
Hinterland Aviation operates regular scenic transfer flights between Cairns Airport and Dunk Island up to 3 times daily on behalf of Voyages Hotels & Resorts. Private transfer charter flights to Dunk Island are also available upon request.

Transfer duration: approx. 45 min. Check-in is 30 minutes prior to the flight departure at the Hinterland Aviation terminal.
